Rich And Delicious Lassi Recipes To Cool You Down This Summer

Classic Lassi

This lassi takes two minutes to make. So even when you reach home after the most tiring day and have no one around to make it for you, this recipe will be a good choice. It is so basic that all the ingredients used in it are those which are found in the kitchen all the time. If you’ve got a sweet-tooth, this recipe is all yours.

Ingredients:

3 cups yoghurt

Sugar (according to taste)

1 cup water

Lots of ice cubes

You can blend these ingredients together, or use a hand whisk to make it all creamy. But when you use a blender, it’ll give you a perfect creamy froth.

Namkeen (salted) Lassi 

You’ll notice that the ingredients here are the same as were used in the Classic Lassi. The only difference is that the sugar is eliminated and salt is added along with roasted cumin seeds.

Ingredients:

3 cups yoghurt

Salt (according to taste)

1 tsp roasted cumin seeds (crush them if you want to)

1 cup water

Lots of ice cubes

The Namkeen Lassi does wonders on afternoons or evenings when you’re completely dehydrated and need something to balance your system right away.

Mango Lassi

No one knows of a summer in Pakistan without mangoes. Therefore, the aam [mango] lassi is going to be a treat for your taste-buds this season.

This recipe is good for two. So in case you have to serve it to more people, double, triple the recipe as per need.

Ingredients:

1 cup plain yogurt

1-2 mangoes (cubes or slices)

1 tbsp sugar (or less, depending on sweetness of the mango)

Splash of milk

Ground cardamom

Lots of ice cubes

All you need to do is take a blender, drop these ingredients (except for the cardamom) in, and get the blades rollin’! Then take two glasses, pour the mango lassi into them, and sprinkle some cardamom. Serve cold. Really cold.

Chocolate lassi

Chocolate has no season. It is an all-rounder. Hence, the chocolate lassi to boost your mood after a hot day.

This recipe serves two. You can add chocolates to it (dark, milk or white) for an additional chocolaty taste. Also, in case you’re not a fan of cocoa powder, you can go for any drinking-chocolate powder, for example Milo, Ovaltine or even Cadbury Drinking Chocolate. And if those aren’t available, add a Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup.

Ingredients:

1 cup plain yogurt

4 tbsp Nutella

2 tbsp cocoa powder

1 tbsp sugar

Roasted and sliced almonds

A pinch of salt

Lots of ice cubes

Add these ingredients to a blender (minus the almonds) and give it a good mix until you see the froth forming. Pour the mixture into glasses and garnish with the almonds.

Mint lassi 

Mint and lemon are two absolutely refreshing ingredients one can toss into any drink. Although this recipe does not include lemon, the mint however gives it a very refreshing kick.

Ingredients:

1 cup yogurt

2 cups water

½ tsp salt

1 tsp ground cumin

½ cup loosely-packed fresh mint leaves

Freshly-ground black pepper

Lots of ice cubes

Blend all these ingredients together and serve in two glasses. Garnish with a mint leaves to make it look visually attractive.
