You’ll Want To Have Breakfast After Reading This

Breakfast doesn’t mean having andda-paratha everyday. No, it doesn’t mean stuffing yourself till you want to throw-up. But if you want to avoid this, it doesn’t mean that you start skipping on it. It is not healthy to not have breakfast. Period.

To all those who avoid getting into the breakfast routine. Here’s what usually happens:

When you get up in the morning, you’ve gone a long stretch without eating. A whole night, buddy. Even though you’ve been sleeping, your body has been using up the stored ‘fuel’ to keep your systems going. If you don’t go to the kitchen for a refill in the morning, you’ll lack the mental and physical energy you need to get through your day (regardless of how old or young you may be). Did you know that the breakfast habit is associated with better weight management and a better diet over all? A majority of those who have successfully lost weight and kept it off eat breakfast nearly every day. On the other hand, people who skip breakfast consume more fat, cholesterol, calories, and sugar – and fewer fruits and vegetables – than those who routinely eat breakfast.

There. We’ve warned you enough.

But how about doing the following to develop a breakfast-routine?

  1. How about getting up 15 minutes earlier?

Instead of lazying around in the bathroom, how about saving 15 minutes for breakfast? It can make all the difference to those who are in a hurry to get to their destination. You’ll not only have time to make something quick, you’ll also give your system a chance to wake up.

  2. A small and light start will do you good

Small portions are key here. Go for easy-to-digest foods that are packed with nutrients. Try a protein shake with fruit, or a  or a hard-boiled egg with a piece of fruit on the side.

  3. Eat what you want to

You don’t have to stuff yourself with food someone else wants you to have. There’s no rule about you having to eat ‘breakfast food’ in the morning. A few bites of leftover chicken and veggie stir-fry should be good for you.

  4. Quick meal doesn’t mean coffee or donut

Many people think they’re not really eating breakfast when they grab just a coffee and a donut at the coffee store. But that innocent looking coffee drink coupled with a donut could dump so many calories and grease into your system.

  5. Proteins are the it thing

Protein is important because it not only helps to keep you satisfied, it also helps keep you mentally alert. So how about eggs, milk or beans maybe?
