The night was not just about the red carpet, or the nominations, nominees and awards. It was beyond that.
There could not have been a better way to kick-off 16th Lux Style Awards on April 19th, than having Atif Aslam sing the national anthem of Pakistan.
The audience was asked to stand up for the anthem, and there came Atif Aslam to take the lead. Sporting a plain, black colored sherwani, all that was missing was what we call the Quaid-e-Azam waali toppi. He looked handsome! The hall at Karachi’s Expo Centre was jam-packed with people who got goosebumps as a wave of patriotism rushed into them. That was the power of the national anthem, topped with the voice of Atif.
The surprise element was a nice one. Here’s what happened before the national anthem. Boys and girls in white colored shalwar kameez and wearing green waist coats and dupattas [respectively] marched their way inside the hall, on to the stage. The music and phenomenal show of lights was definitely breathtaking.
They all assembled on and around the stage after which Atif came and he did what he had to. The video shared on Facebook by LSA team has been viewed over 625k times. It has also been shared over four thousand times, and has received over 35k likes. The comments too, shockingly, cross four thousand.
As if the national anthem was not enough to give you goosebumps, check these comments on social media which showed nothing but patriotism.
