After a long and crazy week, one deserves this miracle in life called “weekend”.
Right at the start of a busy day, the thought of the weekend ahead keeps everyone motivated. While it is easy to imagine that one can kick back and relax, sleep all day long or just be a couch potato in front of the television, it still isn’t that easy. And when you have hours and hours to do the things you don’t during the boring week, you should be more grateful and plan your weekend wisely.
Which is why we decided to brainstorm things which you can do today and tomorrow and all the weekends after that.
1. Meet your friends
Catching up with new and old friends is so important to keep the social life active. In this case, you could visit them at their house, or out for a meal or game, or even plan a beach day with them. And if you’re really bad in planning, fix one day or night just for your friends. Make sure you have no other plans because meeting up with friends is a fixed plan.
Cooking can work as good as meditation does, of course for those who enjoy it. Now this does not mean that you have to prepare something MasterChef style. Just look up a fun recipe and make it. Some options are cakes, breads, pizzas or just a healthy and colorful salad. Or, if during the whole week you rarely get time to eat fresh food, or food which you crave for all the time, cook that up and enjoy.
3. Go to the playground
Who said swings, slides and seesaws are only for the young? Age is just a number, remember? Get playful like nobody’s watching. Breathe in fresh air and play like you haven’t for the longest time. You deserve it.
4. Do some gardening
Buy seeds or young plants which you can take care of easily. If you have a garden, you can plant a gazillion things. And if you live in an apartment, get a few clay or plastic pots and plant something. You’ll be happy once you see them grow. Don’t forget to water them!
5. Try a new restaurant
This could also mean trying a new coffee or dessert place. Exploring has always been fun. Find out about new eateries and visit them. Something to keep you motivated (except the food of course) is that you could come back and write a restaurant review and send it to a publication or even put it up on your personal blog or social media.
6. Getaway to an amazing hotel in your city
Sometimes we just want to get away from the mundane reality of everyday life and treat ourselves. It is so different to spend time in a room at a place you don’t go to often and is of course away from your house. Eat at the hotel, try the spa (if there is any), pamper yourself at the hotel salon etc. And hello, room service! You can wake up when you want to, eat what and when you want to, go take a swim, act like a tourist in your own city and so much more.
